A model of the classic Thunderbolt. This was a BIG plane. It is fun to put
this model next to
the small scale tanks that were is favorite prey and compare the size.
This is another gret
Academy kit with a lot of great detail. The decals are Aeromaster as is
the paint. The
canopy is again trimmed out with Bare Metal Foil. I like the checkerboard
on the cowling.
The model replicates one from the European theater. The cockpit has the
typical seat belt
additions, but that is it for added detail. Nice kit of a great plane.
These planes were literally
tanks of the sky and could really take a beating and bring the pilot home
safe and they were
fast. While they could not dogfight like the Mustang, they were easier to
fly and had a lot of
firepower which instilled confidence in their pilots.
